Bye-Bye Bad Breath

Bye-Bye Bad Breath

Bye-Bye Bad Breath

We?ve all had that morning coffee that lingers in our mouth for the rest of the day. Most of the time bad breath, also referred to as halitosis, is curable with a quick brush, floss and swish of mouthwash. However, if it is persistent, a deeper problem might be at hand. It could be a sign of gum disease, caused by a buildup of plaque on the teeth. To prevent this from happening, we have put together a list of our go-to ways to fight off bad breath and bacteria.

  • Sugar-Free Gum

On the go? No problem. Sugar-free gum is your breath lifesaver. If the gum contains xylitol, even better. This sweetener is an antibacterial which will more effectively get rid of the smell. Bad breath is also connected to the lack of saliva in your mouth, so chewing on gum helps its production go up.

  • Parsley & Basil

This way of freshening your breath can come straight from your garden! Chewing on a tiny piece of parsley or basil is a natural way of getting rid of the smell.

  • Portable Toothbrushes

If you?re worried about having bad breath throughout the day, keep a portable toothbrush on hand to brush your teeth after each meal. This will ensure that bacteria will not settle on your teeth or tongue.

  • Alcohol-Free Mouthwash

Make sure you are rinsing with alcohol-free mouthwash after you brush. Alcohol is dehydrating and can cause more bacteria to grow in your mouth.
