So what?s all this about a one-day crown procedure? Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic, or CEREC? is an incredible method we use at Krengel Dental for tooth restorations. Using computer-assisted design and manufacturing, we are able to do restorations in a single day for patients.
How does it work?
By using technology to revolutionize how ceramic restorations such as crowns and veneers are made, patients receiving CEREC? are able to prepare for and receive a finished product without a lengthy wait time– saving time and money for our team and even better, for you. To add to the perks, the restorations are tooth-colored and metal free, giving your tooth uncompromised strength and shine.
What?s the process?
First, we get you in to make sure CEREC? is the right option for you, depending on how much healthy tooth structure remains. If more than a simple filling is needed, we will prepare you for the restoration by removing the decay and weak tissue in your tooth. Using a digital camera, we then use a 3-dimensional image to create a restoration- no messy impression needed! The CEREC? software converts the image into a 3-D virtual model to then create a custom restoration, using a milling device. Once the restoration is ready, your Krengel dentist will make sure you have a proper fit and bite before polishing and bonding the restoration in its place!
