Taking Care of Your Dentures

Now that you have a new set of pearly whites, taking care of your dentures is just as important as any other dental care! We have put together a checklist of ways you can make sure your dentures are in tip-top shape.

Brush Your Dentures Daily

Your dentures require quality toothbrush time, too! Keep a soft-bristled brush and denture cleaners on hand. If you have questions about what cleaner to use, be sure to reach out to your dentist for recommendations. Soak them, brush them, and you are good to go!

Rinse After Eating

After you have enjoyed a tasty meal, remember to rinse your dentures. Simply run water over them to remove food particles and extra debris.

Soak Overnight

In order to keep their shape, most dentures call for overnight soaking. Check with your dentist for recommendations and read all instructions from the denture manufacturer for the best results.

Keep Your Mouth Clean

There is much more to dental hygiene than brushing teeth! Make sure to show love to your tongue, gums, cheeks and the roof of your mouth. A soft bristled toothbrush is perfect for the  job.

Protect Your Pearly Whites

Dentures are strong, but they can be at risk for breaking or bending. Make sure you don’t bend the plastic, which can cause them to lose their shape. Be careful when washing your dentures so avoid dropping and breaking them as well.
