The Future of Dentistry: How We Use Pearl, Dental AI Software
Recently we’ve been using an artificial intelligence software called Pearl, which analyzes x-rays that you complete during dental cleanings at our office. Pearl works by scanning your x-rays and looking for notable issues in your teeth, bones, and dental restorations. When it finds something that we should give attention to, it will shade that area of your imaging. Lighter colors will highlight the beginning stages of potential problems, while darker shades will show us issues that will need more immediate attention, such as cavities and bone loss.
Why Is Using Dental AI Like Pearl Helpful?
When we’re seeing patients, we’re often seeing many of you back-to-back throughout the day. We want to make sure that we don’t miss things in your x-ray, and if we’re in a hurry, using AI will increase our chance of catching anything that needs attention as well as its severity.
